This Weeks Featured Artist- Greenleea
This weeks featured artist has such a cool style. Lately even she said it has a Van Gogh look to it, check out her spotlight clip, it is just amazing. We loved her wolf reflection and lions and rabbits… She just has a very unique style. She also has some really fun characters that she features in much of her work. Her little red character RibReb is quite entertaining. This weeks featured artist is Greenleea.
Tell us about yourself, what is a typical day like?
I am currently a senior in high school. My typical day is to just go to school and try my hardest to do well in my classes.
How old were you when you started drawing? Ever animated anything before?
I don’t recall and exact age for when I started drawing, but it was probably around kindegarten. I remember one Christmas I drew Rudolph and all the little kindergartners wanted one and my autograph on it! Before signing up on DoInk, my animating was simplistic! I used note cards and made my own flipbooks.
Do you have a favorite artist or animator?
My favorite artist is Salvador Dali, and my favorite animator is Hayao Miyazaki! Both of their work is just stunning and makes my imagination just spaz out all over the place.
What inspires you?
My inspiration comes from all over the place; old movies, family, friends, and other artists. Of course I have to get all my greatest ideas when I am trying to sleep or am in the shower when there isn’t a pencil and notebook in sight to write it down!
Do you have a favorite cartoon and/or anime character?
My favorite cartoon character would have to be “L” from the show “Death Note.” He is extremely intelligent and knows how to hand over a beat-down using only his feet! I wish I could do that!
What is your favorite musician or band, what are you listening to?
My favorite music changes all the time. I love everything from the 50’s up. Right now, I am obsessed with Cat Stevens and Lacuna Coil. Presently, they would be my favorite band and singer.
What are your Favorite websites, outside of DoInk?
My favorite website outside of DoInk is simply Facebook. Thats predictable! Oh, and Deviantart as well! How could I forget that site?
What are your hobbies?
My hobbies are drawing and playing video games. Other than that, nothing.
What are your favorite Computer Game?
Well, I’m not much of a computer game fan. The really good games are on the consoles! My favorite game ever is “Dead Rising” on the 360. Its about zombies. I can’t wait until the second one comes out!
How did you find DoInk and what is your experience so far?
I found DoInk when I became obsessed with the idea of animating. It has been my life long dream. I searched the internet for days trying to find some kind of free site where its easy to do. I have yet to find another site that does better than DoInk! You guys are the best!
Any advice for other DoInk users?
My advice to all of you DoInkers out ther is to take your time when you are animating or drawing something. Try new styles! Trust me, it works! When I tried a new style and took my time on my drawings, it got me featured twice!
