This Weeks Featured Artist-Quarky
This weeks featured artist has been a community member since very early on. Even back then we were blown away by his characters and his amazing style and story telling. We loved it so much that you probably see his Ice Cream snatcher clip if you run into any trouble. We just love his animations. His movement and stories are amazing and I just look forward to every one of his animations. He is truly an inspiration to this whole community. This weeks featured artist is Quarky. 
Tell us about yourself, what is a typical day like?
Well, I’m only a Junior in high school, so life is pretty busy! My typical day is basically going to school and coming home, haha, although I always love spending time with my friends and do that when I can :)
How old were you when you started drawing? Ever animated anything before?
I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember! I love it, and have loved it since I was pretty young…my mom still has some stuff I drew for her when I was like 4 years old! Animating on the other hand….well that’s new. DoInk has been my first opportunity to try it out and I really enjoy it :)
Do you have a favorite artist or animator?
Well, not any “big-name” people, I mostly look up to my peers. I have quite a few friends who are amazing artists, and there are plenty of DoInkers whose animations I always love!
What inspires you?
Haha, to be honest my inspiration is usually completely random…and doesn’t actually come from anywhere in particular xD Although I have been inspired by songs, my friends, past experiences many times as well.
Do you have a favorite cartoon and/or anime character?
Well I’m afraid I don’t know much when it comes to anime! I think the style is very cool and wish I could draw like that myself! But I don’t know any of the characters. When it comes to cartoons, I love the classics :) Tom and Jerry are definitely my favorites, and I love Bugs Bunny!
What is your favorite musician or band, what are you listening to?
This is always a tough question, because I love every kind of music out there! Haha everything from rap to country :D My favorite artists would probably be Josh Wilson and Sarah Reeves. They are both amazing at singing and their songs are super inspirational and encouraging. I also love the bands RED, Showbread, Anberlin, Relient K, and Philmont.
What are your Favorite websites, outside of DoInk?
Haha that’s an easy one…Facebook! :D
What are your hobbies?
Ummm…drawing. That’s really the only one I can think of. I play piano too, though I’m still kinda starting and not really that great :P
What are your favorite Computer Game?
I don’t really play any…although if I wanna play a game usually just go to miniclip.com ;)
How did you find DoInk and what is your experience so far?
Actually I found DoInk through an advertisement on Facebook! And I’m so glad I did :) my experience here has been really great, the users and admins are wonderful, and I’ve learned a lot!
Any advice for other DoInk users?
Keep trying! There have been many times where I considered not finishing an animation because it was getting frustrating (“Happy Thanksgiving!!” and “Ice Cream Snatcher” both I nearly scrapped). But just keep working on it! And take a break if you need :) Sometimes you just need to take “breather”, when you come back, you may see it in a whole ‘nother way :D (haha, I hope that made sense ;) )
