The featured artist this week is Punksk8r17.

Tell us about yourself, what is a typical day like?

Well, I have already started my new school year. Every day is completely different from the last, for me.
Sometimes it can be boring, exciting, annoying, etc… Y’know, like typical school days.

How old were you when you started drawing? Ever animated anything before?

Whoo, boy… that’s a long time ago. I taught myself at around age 5, and currently I am 17, turning 18 next January.
It runs in the family. My mom is an excellent sketch artist, as am I, and my aunt from my mother’s side, is a painter.

Do you have a favorite artist or animator?

Hmm… That’s a tough one… I don’t really take interest in admiring another artist’s work. I like to focus on my own unique strategies, and techniques.

What inspires you?

Life. Anything and everything that is a living organism is very inspiring. I never create artwork that resembles something that is not living. Like a car, for example. I would much rather seek inspiration from animal, and human anatomy.

Do you have a favorite cartoon and/or anime character?

SpongeBob. Nothing more to say.

What is your favorite musician or band, what are you listening to?

I usually collect albums from various rock artists. I can name quite a few, but it’d just waste your time reading it all.

What are your Favorite websites, outside of DoInk?

What are your hobbies?
Skateboarding, sketching, drawing, occasional random doodling, writing in a journal, playing with, and caring for my animals, hanging out with my closest friends, and school.

What are your favorite Computer Game(s)?

Pokemon. That’s it. But I don’t play computer games.

How did you find DoInk and what is your experience so far?

To be quite honest, I don’t remember how I found it. I have had many wonderful experiences with DoInk, and I am thankful for finding this site.

Any advice for other DoInk users?

Yes, definitely. Artists should never copy another person’s work without his/her permission, and should NEVER claim another artist’s work as their own. Always ask permission, and even if the artist says “no,” respect their answer and don’t try to push them. Don’t take it too personally either.

Your favorite clip that you have done?
