This Week’s Featured Artist - EVIE
We love this week’s featured artist. She really has a style of her own and it is so recognizable. Pretty much whenever I see her work, I know it is her. It is such a cool style and I just love how all of her characters turn out. They have such a charm about them. Hard to describe charm in art, but we think she has it! Even her avatar is just so cute! We love her work, she is from Holland which is cool too. We love that DoInk has a great group of artists from all around the world, that are working and learning together. This week’s featured artist is the amazing EVIE.
Tell us about yourself, what is a typical day like?
I wake up, and go to school, return home and do my homework. When my homework is done, I have supper and after that I go Doink-ing!
How old were you when you started drawing? Ever animated anything before?
I was 2 or 3 years old… I drew peoples with broom-hands ^^ I’ve ever done an Animate-Workshop, but that was a very primitive way of animating. Sheet by sheet. It was a lot of work!
Do you have a favorite artist or animator?
On Doink is my favorite artist my BFF Sydneytijger!! Outside Doink I haven’t a favorite.
What inspires you?
My favorite band Queen! And Greek mythology.
Do you have a favorite cartoon and/or anime character?
I like Doofenschmirtz from Phineas and Ferb! I am not very familiar with Manga.
What is your favorite musician or band, what are you listening to?
Queen!! I love their songs! Sadly enough, they stopped because our big friend Freddie died… I just like old music, but I hate The Beatles. ;)
What are your Favorite websites, outside of DoInk?
www.hyves.nl <- It’s the Dutch version of Facebook.
What are your hobbies?
Drawing, playing the bass, watching tv., doing nothing, and just being lazy.
What are your favorite Computer Games?
I am not a big fan of computer games, but I like Super Mario Bros for the Wii.
How did you find DoInk and what is your experience so far?
My BFF Sydney found Doink. She’s showed it to me. I liked it, and I made an account! I’ve learned to animate, and to add shading. My drawings outside Doink have also become better.
If you could add any features to DoInk, what would they be?
Adding sounds and voice! It would be cool if you can add your own voice, so you don’t have to write everything that your characters say.
Any advice for other DoInk users?
Always keep practicing! And let yourself be inspired by little, normal things.

I am very proud of this one! I made it without a tablet, and it took a lot of time, but I love the way it turned out!
