This Week’s Featured Artist - GranolaBar
How could this injustice of happened? Yes somehow I have not featured this artist yet. I tell ya, they need to get some more competent people working at this website! Just saying… Okay that is rant my for the day. This week’s featured artist is amazing, she has even won our Holiday10 contest (highlighted in this interview). So in my defense I have actually interviewed her before for winning that. (Yeah I not interested in my excuses either.) So this week’s artist is fantastic, she is a great inspiration for the DoInk community, she is extremely involved and has just blown us away with her talent. This week’s artist is amazing, very patient about being featured, and one of two extremely talented sisters on our site: GranolaBar.
Tell us about yourself, what is a typical day like?
I do school (I’m homeschooled, and usually get done early), take my dogs out, talk with friends… I have a very uneventful life. :)
How old were you when you started drawing? Ever animated anything before?
I’ve always drawn my whole life. Nah, except for flip books, I’ve never animated.
Do you have a favorite artist or animator?
I don’t have a favorite artist, really. I really don’t know, I like a lot of varied artists.
What inspires you?
Haha, I don’t really know! I guess music does a little.
Do you have a favorite cartoon and/or anime character?
Phineas and Ferb and The Misadventures of Flapjack are kind of my favorite cartoons at the moment, I can’t decide on a favorite character.
What is your favorite musician or band, what are you listening to?
I listen to a lot of Adele, Alasdair Fraser, Bob Marley, Casey Abrams, Haley Reinhart, James Morrison, Sara Bareilles, Sia, and some old Disney movie soundtracks.
What are your Favorite websites, outside of DoInk?
YouTube and iSketch, I guess. I’m usually either drawing or Skyping when I’m on the computer. :P
What are your hobbies?
Well drawing, of course. I also play fiddle, piano, and a teeny bit of guitar. I don’t know if this counts as a hobby, but I like to do stuff with my animals? I like working with animals I guess.
What are your favorite Computer Games?
Portal & Portal 2. :P I like video games, but I don’t play a lot of computer games.
How did you find DoInk and what is your experience so far?
My sister CaptainOinkers found it first, so she showed it to me. I like it a lot! I like the community, there are a lot of talented people here! :)
If you could add any features to DoInk, what would they be?
Um, kai125521 said recently on the forums that a “Recyle Bin” where your deleted drawings could be stored would be a really handy feature, and I agree.
Any advice for other DoInk users?
Just enjoy yourself and keep on drawing! Don’t concern yourself so much with what others think of your work.
