This Week’s Featured Artist - TROgirl
We love this week’s featured artist and I was really having a hard time figuring out which one of her clips I liked best, since I like so many of them. It is a good thing we make you featured artist pick your favorite clips or I would never be able to finish these interviews! This artist is incredibly talented and also a great part of the DoInk community. I really loved her quote below in her interview on success: “Success Is Measured By The Successful!” A great way to live your life! There is also a great quote on her profile: ” I think we could all get rid of some stress by just letting our mistakes go. I mean, you make mistakes, you learn from them, you pay the consequences, you move on. I think that’d work better than hanging onto grudges.” This week’s featured artist is the very wise TROgirl.
Tell us about yourself, what is a typical day like?
A typical day for me? All my days have different schedules but for Mon-Fri I basically, get up, get dressed, eat, etc. Then I go to school and do whatever I have to in order to learn (occasionally having free time thus a chance to do extra DoInking ;3) Come home, Do any chores I may have, and flop down in front of my computer with a cup of hot chocolate and start DoInking! (I’m lucky I rarely have homework)
How old were you when you started drawing? Ever animated anything before?
I pretty much started drawing ever since the time I first discovered when I spilled my food I could make shapes with it! Animating? Umm… I think once in school quite a long time ago (like, grade 3) I tried something from google I randomly found, but it was really hard to understand and I couldn’t get it to work at all…
Do you have a favorite artist or animator?
Well, My favorite artist is my cousin Andrea Oakley! ^^ She is an amazing artist who uses mainly oil paints and she is so nice and her drawings are so detailed and beautiful! She paints a lot of wildlife. :3 And Animator? Why, everyone on this wonderful site called DoInk!
What inspires you?
Pretty much anything I see or whatever happens to me inspires me, especially the pictures or animations I see from other DoInkers!
Do you have a favorite cartoon and/or anime character?
Ummm, not really, but if I have to choose I guess I’d pick Kirby! So adorable and really well designed with all his abilities! I also really like Ushio and Kotomi from the anime Clannad if that counts…. ^^U
What is your favorite musician or band, what are you listening to?
I honestly don’t have one. Even though I don’t like it, the sad fact is I don’t listen to much music. T^T But Some of my favorite songs I *DO* listen to are: Dango Daikazoku, Toki wo Kizamu Uta, and the potato song made from a fan of portal 2 XD
What are your Favorite websites, outside of DoInk?
Ummm…. Nitrome, and Neopets. :3
What are your hobbies?
Well, the obvious ones are animating and drawing. The other ones are playing Clarinet (but I need to be more regular than I already am…) and playing with my pet pugs :D Oh, and I also like to philosophize over life the universe and everything. So for I’ve thought about it 42 times.
What are your favorite Computer Games?
Spore, and I want to get Portal 2.
How did you find DoInk and what is your experience so far?
I found out about DoInk when I was on ROBLOX by a lovely person known as gapa5. She asked me if I like animating and then introduced me to DoInk! I am very thankful she did or I may have never had so much fun! My experience so far? It’s been amazing, and a great way to fuel creativity while having a good time!
If you could add any features to DoInk, what would they be?
I’m actually very happy with how it is right now, but I might want to have a record ability to be able to show others the process of “How I Made This” - I think it’d be really neat!
Any advice for other DoInk users?
Advice? Well, don’t let others determine what a good picture/animation is. If you wanna create something new and unique- you go right ahead! Success Is Measured By The Successful!
What is your favorite clip that you have done?
I honestly cannot pick one…I’m always making new clips that I like more than the previous one… but if I have to choose I think I’d pick this one because It was neat to make a 3d animation and I really like turtles! ^^
