This Weeks Featured Artist-Missa
This weeks featured artist is someone we just love. She has been in the DoInk community since the early days and she is just such a positive and enthusiastic force. She has such a fun and creative style of animating and she always involved in all our contests and helping other people in our community. She is just a great artist and a very inspiring community member. We are so happy that she is such an important part of this community. This weeks featured artist is Missa. 
Tell us about yourself, what is a typical day like?
A typical day would probably be waking up (late for school, of course), barely making it through the drama and craziness of school, and then taking a dance class. There’s always ALOT going on at school!
How old were you when you started drawing? Ever animated anything before?
I started drawing I believe when I was about 4 or 5. My first original character was a bunny (named Bunny of course, lol). DoInk was my first animating experience, and I was so excited because I had always wanted to animate, but didn’t know how!
Do you have a favorite artist or animator?
I have to say that either Chuck Jones from Tom and Jerry or Jim Davis from Garfield are the best, in my opinion.
What inspires you?
All my good friends and family around me are my inspiration, because when I get in an artistic slump, they are always there cheering me on again. It’s a nice picker-uper ;)
Do you have a favorite cartoon and/or anime character?
I absolutely LOVE “Non-Sequiter”, which is a really funny comic strip in the newspaper. My favorite character from that would have to be the dinosaur, I don’t know his name…
What is your favorite musician or band, what are you listening to?
I have a HUGE variety of music: right now, my favorite songs are “Holiday” (Madonna), “Work That” (Mary J. Blige), and “Dance Tonight” (Paul McCartney). I’m also a big 70’s and 80’s fan.
What are your Favorite websites, outside of DoInk?
I use Facebook quite often, and YouTube when I get the chance.
What are your hobbies?
When I’m not busy drawing, painting, or animating, I attend classes for tap, jazz, and ballet. Ballet has to be my favorite; I’ve been doing it for about 9 years now, and I love it! Even though I’m not the athletic type, I enjoy snow skiing up north :)
What are your favorite Computer Game?
I’ve been hooked on Sims 2 for quite some time, but I haven’t got the chance to play it recently. I guess random game websites like gamefudge.com would be my second favorite.
How did you find DoInk and what is your experience so far?
I found DoInk last September on an ad on Facebook. The cute pink octopus lured me in, and then, there I was! Hmm…my experience would have to be TOTALLY AWESOME! :D
Any advice for other DoInk users?
Definitely, definitely never give up. If you’re stuck on an animation or don’t know what to draw, don’t let that get you down! Just keep trying and brainstorming, it really works for me. Otherwise, have fun on DoInk and don’t get discouraged! :)
